This week I'm knee deep in lace, because
I'm busy with three Moses baskets at a time...
This net canopy is so pretty and it even comes with
three layers of lace at the bottom.
Silk bows of course..
I already brought this pink Moses basket to
Cottage Chic in Mirdif City Center.
They also have my four poster baby bed.
This is the last one I have.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Last week I was busy making some
favours, they can be used for weddings
or baby showers.
These ones I made in Tiffany blue colour.
Did I forget to tell you?.. they are tissue holders...
They do look like dresses again.
I also made them with peach details.
There is a layer of lace with peach flowers
peeking out from under there.
Those satin flowers are hand made,
somewhere in China there is a person...
I'm having a lot of fun with my
new Toile de Jouy material.
Here is a frilly bolster with an oval panel.
A few cushions together.
Then I made this big 70 x 70cm cushion, half of it
is covered with layers of lace and a tie in the middle.
When I pulled the tie it looked like a dress with a waist.
Then... pling!! a little light bulb went on....
Now this dress has a real waist...
It still is a cushion, the...
I love this new material!
I found it in the shop where I usually buy my silk from.
The only problem is that it had to be ordered from
Italy and the minimum amount is ten yards...
That means.. you'll see a lot of it...
This week I worked on a lace bed-cover with
layers of lace and silk at the border.
These cushions match the bed-cover perfectly.
mmm.. what else can I make out of it...
Tomorrow I'll start...
Beige, cream, off white.... where have all the colours gone?
Today I finished this neutral coloured set.
I made a few cushions and a lace throw to cover the bed linen.
Here you can see the small bolster with the oval top
from the previous post.
Now I want to make something PINK!!
I hope you have a great week
filled with lovely colours...
Today I am joining in with
Today I made two small bolsters,
they are easy to make and I took a few
pictures to show you how I made them.
I used satin cotton material and took the
circumference from a container I thought to be
the right size.
To get the lines straight, I ironed it in the
width and in the length.
For this bolster I used an oval shape to put
on top of the material.
First I stitched some lace in the width on the...
Look what I found on one of my lace hunts...
It has a cotton feel, so soft and a it comes in a
perfect shade of beige.
The big diamond shaped one, I used it
on the front of this beige baby pouch,
I love how it turned out.
The details are very pretty,
just perfect for this pouch.
Today I will be joining in with
I hope you...
I think Old Rose is the prettiest shade of pink...
it matches so well with beige and cream lace.
Today I finished a baby crib set,
a bumper, blanket and a small pillow.
The bedding is not for this bed,
it is meant for a rectangular bed,
I used it just for the pictures...
I used silk on the outside of the bumper
and for those pretty bows
and soft cotton for the inside.
Not to forget a baby pouch to
It has been a while since I made
frilly dresses, today I finished making
two silk dresses for that special day.
The new lace I bought recently matched
the colours perfectly.
I love this bonnet pattern, I have an other one
that's cute too, I'll make it soon and show you.
This is the cream silk dress,
it has a lace front panel and I covered the sleeves
with lace, how sweet...
Different cream shades and...
I have two cameras...
A big complicated one and a small pink one that fits in my hand bag.
Now the little pink one has random pictures stored in it.
Today I thought to share a few with you.
This tower with sweets and macarons
Perfect for a wedding or baby shower favors.
This shop in Dubai Mall
has many pretty displays.
Stuffed pigeon anyone??
He was all alone standing knee-deep in bird...
Last week I was busy making these baby pouches.
Same model, only in different colours.
I have to admit, it is getting repetitive ...
New lace though, that adds a little spark.
Don't you just love the front panel..
Yep, new lace!
This pouch is made with Dupioni silk.
Here I used a different lace for the front panel.
I added some lace to a ready bought diaper bag,
to match the baby pouch.
I found this cheerful printed material
and made a few cushions.
Perfect for a teen's room.
To my delight while lace hunting I also found
this ribbon embroidered net that is used
as a front panel for a dress.
I have many more ideas for it...
I hope you are having a great weekend.
Today I will join in with
Today a different Moses basket stand,
I had this stand made a few years ago
but didn't have a basket big enough to fit the stand.
At last I found this nice one, it's bigger
than my usual one and it fits like a glove..
I also found some soft cotton lace material
and covered the sides with it.
I really had fun making this basket.
I get tired sometimes copying my own designs for orders.
Back to work! Babies wait for no one...
After my holiday I had to catch up with my orders.
This off white Moses basket is a favorite model,
I still enjoy making them, they look so fresh and crisp.
I used cotton with a little fleur de lis pattern
for the base and bedding,
then added many layers of lace.
I always fix a heavy cotton band to the handles
and bottom to secure the basket,
then hide the band...
I am always on the hunt to find lace...
and French Brocante markets are the perfect places
to find handmade ones.
This one is a long pillow case with small buttons at the back
and lace at the sides to pull ribbon through.
I love the initials E.R.
Crisp linen and cotton stacks of napkins with
hand embroidered initials
I just can not resist...
I found this cute baby bib and bonnet.
The icing on the cake...
I found this amazing crochet book
full of patterns to make flowers and other designs.
I like to use the flowers on my cushions
and baby blankets.
The only crochet pattern I can follow is the one below.
If anyone has a crochet pattern to make baby socks
can you please send me a copy.
I would like to share some holiday pictures
For the first week we rented an apartment
right on the d'Ardeche river.
The view was amazing!
To my surprise,
in the street below, there was a market...
Fresh fruit galore!
In one of the villages we visited an
art market and my grand daughters
tried their hands on pottery..
They have grown so much in the half year
that I haven't seen...
The time before my travel was quite hectic,
I had a lots of orders pending and had no time
to post and boast...
Now back from my holiday, all relaxed and ready to go...
Cream and pink Moses basket with stand.
Super cute in off white and pink...
Cream and Blue Moses basket with
a removable skirt.
This time the new mother choose
a sweet patterned cotton for the inside of the pouch.
I love it!
I hope you are...
The other day I found some nice cotton material
with a floral and paisley design
in a few shades of beige.
It reminded me of henna designs
the ladies here apply for festive occasions.
What is more festive than a new baby...
So I used the material to line this sweet baby pouch.
I hope you have a lovely week.
My daughter who lives in France send me these cute
pictures of my two grand-daughters, I haven't seen
them for about six month now.
We'll be traveling soon to be with them.
I hope time flies before we travel and
slows down when we're there...
Here is Anais fixing her party crown
and Eloise with her balloon.
Last time I saw her she could just walk...
When I feel sad that they live in an other country
I've been bitten by the Bow Bug!
and I just had to have one!
so I made my own.
Here I added bows to a set of pillows.
They will be used with vintage iron garden chairs.
I've booked our flights,
rented a car from Avignon train station
and a nice house next to the Ardeche river.
Countdown started to the 21st of July!
This week I managed to finish many projects
and I think they turned out great.
I love this boudoir seat, the pink and brown contrast
looks so nice.
The pink lace has a bit of brown and
a hint of glitter thread in it.
a pillow to match.
It will be hard to part with these two cushions.
I've seen some bloggers making lace book covers and
Look what I found at IKEA...
A perfect little bin or it could be a plant pot.
It is made of metal and has a pierced lace design border.
I will use it for waste paper or any dry disposals
or find a plastic liner to protect it from rusting.
I added a band of Velcro
to keep the little skirt in place.
A few more things I made this week.
A dolls trolley...
A few cushions..
and a baby pouch that is matching...
Today I finished this pretty cream linen Moses Basket.
The mother to be, wanted a gold coloured bow to decorate the basket.
I used Dupioni silk for the bow because it is a bit
stiff, so it can be shaped nicely.
I'm not too sure about the top bow...
a few stitches removed and off it comes.
This time I added a cotton frill to the top of
the blanket, I think it looks cute.
Here the basket stands waiting...
A friend of my is moving into a new home and I
made her a few towels for the guest bathroom.
I started with a strip of material, about 60 cm long
and 10 cm. wide.
Then stitched a seam on the bottom and sides.
My machine gathers when I put both settings
in the highest number.
I added a nice cotton lace to the material strip
and gathered them together.
Here I stitched them both on the edge of a small...
Today I finished making this lace bed cover.
I had this idea for a while, to make a cover that could go over any
blanket, the lace is thin enough to show through any colour.
Even the pillows has a loose cover.
The cover is not for this bed,
I made it for a smaller bed.
A Moses Basket and a pouch to complete the set.
I added a few velvet oval shaped decorations,
I can't just leave it 'empty'...
I think it...
A new Cottage Chic store opened today
in Mirdif City Centre, Dubai.
I haven't seen a prettier shop than this one,
filled with romantic styled rooms.
Here I bring all my frilly, lacy baby items
I will have to work a bit harder to keep
a few baby beds in this pretty room.
In this store they created separate rooms,
each with different wall paper to make it look more stunning.
My cushions found...
See what I found... silk organza with velvet
embroidered roses, it can't get any yummier than this...
Now I have to find out what to make out of it.
Oh! and here are some more cushions.
Sweet fairies for a little girls room.
Lots of birds, flowers and patterns.
Rachel Ashwell's sample material..
Can you see the pink lace peeking from under
Why should girls have all the fun!
So I made a few blue...
This week I've been so busy finishing orders
and making lots of cushions.
These cushions and bolsters are going to
Cottage Chic, my friend's new shop that's opening
soon in Mirdif City Centre.
This cute canopy is going to hang over
a baby bed, suspended from a hook
fixed to the ceiling.
It's two and a half meters long.
The lace on top looks like a little crown,
I love the roses.. it is hard to find...
Today I finished making this sweet Moses Basket.
It's going to an exhibition in Abu Dhabi.
Unfortunately I will not be there, however
the shop where I bring my items to has a stall and will exhibit for three days.
I love the little blanket I made.
It's an idea I saw in Pottery-barn, minus the lace..
I still didn't make my king size one, I'm still dreaming about it!
How romantic is this curtain!
These days I am enjoying myself and going
all out with making frilly froufrou poufs,
try saying that three times in a row...
I bought lots of this embroidered cotton
so you will be seeing many items made out of it.
Do you remember my previous post about the material
with birds and butterflies I found? Today I used it on these
I've cut out the pictures and zig-zagged it on the linen
These days I feel like the energizer bunny...
On top of my friend's shop opening soon, I need to fill up a stall
at an event, all with baby goodies.
It is so very exciting and I hope to get everything done in time.
Today I finished these cute pink cushions, they will be used
with the previous bed cover I made.
This set will be used in the room where the new mother
receives the well wishers of her new...
I've covered a few containers that the ladies
here, keep sandal wood or other scented wood chips in.
This is used specifically on special occasions
like weddings or generally just to perfume the house.
I like the smell of sandalwood or agar wood burning,
especially after frying fish.
It instantly takes away any unwanted odor.
No machine made lace can compare
to hand made lace!
I love this lace collar,...
What colour can we use for a baby boy's
How about olive green for a change, I had this
soft green lace for a while and it looks so pretty
with all the green flowers and off white.
The canopy doesn't belong to this stand,
I just used it for the pictures.
I also made a diaper and wet-wipes holder
and found these small velvet flowers.
I haven't made this before, I added some lace and trim
These days I'm trying to finish all my orders
so I can make lots of frilly cushions and other yummy things
for my friend's new store.
Today I made a few baby pillows with lots of lace,
perfect to show off your new bundle of joy.
I found this pure cotton material with
Fleur de Lis patter, I love it!
How about this material,
perfect for my next Moses basket in Marie Antoinette style...
I hope you have a...
I love this pink girly bed cover,
old rose is still my favorite colour, so romantic.
This soft green cushion is a perfect match.
I hope you have a creative
and wonderful week.
Today I will be joining in with,
